“I know Professor Valentini, or Deantini, from taking his ‘Energy and Energy Conservation’ class this very semester. As this was my first semester on campus, I was captivated by the spirit of Columbia — the unique and inspiring energy of a scholar community. I appreciate him for challenging me to think creatively and outside of the box, as well as encouraging me in a variety of ways for things that I am passionate about. Humility, humor and exceptional kindness manifest themselves through sincere listening and unconditional support in the academic world and beyond.
