Fostering Humility, Openness, and Growth

"I have so many memories of and so much appreciation for Dean Valentini! We first met in 2012 after the Varsity Show — ‘The Corporate Core’ — which followed students through a quest to save the liberal arts. I have long admired Dean Valentini's empathy for students’ struggle and the work he does to connect all that they gain from their education both inside and outside of the classroom. I particularly admire the shift he brought about at the College when he gave students permission to be beginners, and encouraged them to foster ‘Beginner’s Mind’ and see themselves on a journey of learning. It was such a welcome change that has had a significant impact on fostering humility, and openness to possibility and growth among students. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being such an inspirational and warm leader!"
